Site of Action: Inhibitors of acetolactate synthase (ALS) and also called acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS)
Symptoms
Following POST emergent application:- Rapid growth inhibition occurs
- 3- 7 days later, sometimes sooner, chlorosis occurs
- 7- 14 days later the growing point dies
- 14- 21 days later the plant dies completely
- Seed germination is not inhibited
- The shoot growing point usually quickly undergoes chlorosis and necrosis, although there are some seedlings that can remain green for 2 weeks before dying
- Absorbed through roots, shoots and foliage
- Translocated within the plant
- Short to moderate persistence
- May cause carryover injury onto sugar beets
