CUCURBITs
Cucurbit crops include cantaloupe, cucumbers, pumpkins, squash, watermelon and zucchini. They are warm-season vegetables and they perform very poorly at temperatures below 10°C (50°F). Cucurbit crops are either grown from transplants or direct-seeded into the field. Diseases often require aggressive management in this crop group, especially downy mildew in cucumbers. Cucurbits require pollination from honey bees or native bee populations.
