Oxford County Meat Processor
Expands Product Line in Oxford County - McGuinty Government Supports
Agri-Food Industry, Creates Jobs
Ontario is helping a Norwich meat processor expand its product
line, create jobs and respond to the demand for natural, locally
produced beef.
With support from Ontario's Rural
Economic Development Program, Norwich Packers, a family-run
business operating for more than 50 years, will buy new equipment,
increase storage space, develop a marketing plan and create promotional
materials for its antibiotic- and hormone-free beef products. The
new product line will help the company:
- create up to 15 new jobs
- increase production by 25 percent
- increase revenue by up to $1.56 million per year
A strong agri-food industry is part of the McGuinty government's
plan to create jobs and opportunities that will grow the province's
economy.
