Supporting Businesses In
Gravenhurst - McGuinty Government Strengthens Local Economy, Creates
Jobs
Ontario is helping the Town of Gravenhurst revitalize its downtown,
diversify its economy and create new jobs.
With support from Ontario's
Rural Economic Development Program, the town is partnering with
the downtown Business Improvement Area and the Gravenhurst Chamber
of Commerce to develop a long-term plan to strengthen the central
business district and diversify the local economy. This will help
the town:
- create 11 new jobs and retain 40 existing positions
- become a year-round destination for tourism and events
- retain and attract businesses to the downtown core
Strengthening rural communities is part of the McGuinty government's
plan to create jobs and opportunities that will grow the province's
economy.
