Program Evaluation

The information contained in this document is derived from the Nutrient Management Act, 2002 and O. Reg 267/03 as amended. Every effort has been made to make it as accurate as possible, but is not authoritative. Please refer to the e-Laws website or the official volumes printed by Publications Ontario for the authoritative text of the act.

The goal of any evaluation is to gather and provide useful feedback to a variety of stakeholders. Evaluations help OMAFRA determine how well a program or course is delivered, what the effectiveness of the program or course is, and what the impact on our clients and other stakeholders is. It helps to improve upon current programs and guide decision making when it comes to future programs.

Depending upon the nature of the program or course, feedback from stakeholders is collected using a variety of different methods: online survey, face-to-face focus group sessions, evaluation form mail-outs, and/or telephone surveys. In order to eliminate the possibility of bias, third party organisations are often used to disseminate and collect the surveys and analyse the data. Evaluations not only help improve services, but also ensure we are delivering the right services.
